Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Octavio Lara ("I", "me", or "my") handles information in connection with Quillon, a local-first desktop application and related website.

I built Quillon with privacy as a core principle. The short version: your career data stays on your machine. I don't want it, I don't collect it, and I have no infrastructure to store it.

1. What Data Stays on Your Device

The following data is stored exclusively on your local machine and is never transmitted to my servers:

Your master resume and all resume variants
Job descriptions you paste into the application
AI-generated content (cover letters, tailored resumes, profile assets, Q&A responses)
Your API keys for third-party AI providers
Application tracking data (Kanban boards, pipeline stages, notes)
Voice Lab tone calibration data
Any other career or professional content you create within the app

I have no access to this data. It is yours entirely.

2. What I Do Collect

Email Address

If you sign up for the beta, newsletter, or license recovery, I collect your email address. I use this only to:

Deliver your license key
Send product updates or release announcements (you can unsubscribe at any time)
Help you recover or manage your license

I do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

Anonymous Telemetry (Future)

In a future version of Quillon, I plan to introduce optional, anonymous telemetry to help improve the product. This will be:

Strictly opt-in - disabled by default
Limited to high-level feature usage events (e.g., "resume tailored", "PDF exported")
Completely anonymous, with no personally identifiable information
Clearly disclosed in the application when introduced

No resume content, job descriptions, API keys, or personal career data will ever be included in telemetry.

3. Third-Party AI Providers

Quillon's AI features use your own API key to communicate directly between your device and the AI provider you choose (such as Groq, OpenAI, or Anthropic). These requests are made from your machine - not routed through my servers.

I have no visibility into what data you send to those providers. Please review the privacy policies of your chosen AI provider:

If you use a local language model, no data leaves your machine at all.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. I do not handle or store your payment information directly. Please review LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data.

5. Website Analytics

The Quillon website may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic. No personal data or behavioral profiles are created.

6. Data Retention

Since I don't store your career data, there is nothing for me to delete. If you'd like your email address removed from my records, contact me at the address below and I will delete it promptly.

7. Children's Privacy

Quillon is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If I make significant changes to this Privacy Policy, I will update the effective date and notify users through the application or website.
