Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Quillon, a desktop application and related website operated by Octavio Lara ("I", "me", or "my"). By downloading, installing, or using Quillon, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Product
Quillon is a local-first desktop application for resume management, job application tracking, and AI-assisted career tooling. The application runs primarily on your device. I do not store your resume content, job descriptions, or AI-generated outputs on my servers.
2. License
When you purchase Quillon Pro, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the application on your own devices. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or share your license key with others.
The free tier is available without purchase under the same usage terms.
3. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
Quillon's AI features require you to provide your own API key from a third-party provider (such as Groq, OpenAI, or Anthropic), or to configure a local language model. By using these features:
- You are solely responsible for your API usage and any associated costs charged by the provider.
- Your API keys are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to or stored by Quillon's servers.
- I am not affiliated with, endorsed by, or liable for any third-party AI provider.
4. Payments and Refunds
Quillon Pro is a one-time payment of $19.99, processed through LemonSqueezy.
Refund Policy: If the application fails to function on your device and the issue cannot be resolved within a reasonable timeframe, you may request a refund within 7 days of purchase by contacting me at the email listed below. Refunds are issued at my discretion and are intended for genuine technical failures, not change of mind.
Digital license keys that have been activated are generally non-refundable outside of this policy.
5. Beta Access
Beta licenses are provided free of charge for testing and feedback purposes. Beta software may be unstable, incomplete, or subject to significant changes. By using a beta license, you acknowledge this and agree that I am not liable for any issues arising from beta software use.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the application
- Attempt to extract, replicate, or redistribute the application's source code
- Use Quillon for any unlawful purpose
- Share, sell, or transfer your license key to any other person
7. No Warranty
Quillon is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. I make no guarantees that the application will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use of AI-generated outputs - including resumes, cover letters, and professional profile content - is entirely at your own risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, my total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Quillon shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license (maximum $19.99). I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost job opportunities, data loss, or career outcomes.
9. Intellectual Property
Quillon and all associated software, design, and branding are the intellectual property of Octavio Lara. Content you create using Quillon - including your resumes, cover letters, and professional assets - remains entirely yours.
10. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the application or website. Continued use of Quillon after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Argentina. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Argentina, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your jurisdiction.
